A fever ravages New London, but with the Brotherhood sending suspected witches straight to the gallows, the Sisters are powerless against the disease. To make matters worse, Cate has been erased from the memory of her beloved Finn. While she’s torn between protecting him from further attacks and encouraging him to fall for her all over again, she’s certain she can never forgive Maura’s betrayal. It is always a sad day when I read the last word of the last book in a Series I have really loved. It's been a wonderful 4 years getting to know & love the characters in the Cahill Witch Chronicles & I wish it wasn't over.

This book, like the previous 2, is a period piece about witches in a world where witchcraft is illegal. It is about a prophecy about 3 sisters who would be the most powerful witches the world has ever seen. 1 would be an oracle who would lead mankind into a new era of witchcraft enlightenment or be the hand that the Brotherhood (a Religious sect, similar to Christianity, but only preaches about the evil of witches) would use to destroy them all. 1 of the 3 would be killed by her sister.

When I began reading this book, I could not fathom how Spotswood would be able to end the series in book 3.By the end, when normally I would assume the author would cram a lot of information in to only a few pages, she ends up showing the readers exactly the ending they wanted (with a few small details they probably didn't want) without making it seem rushed. I have to say I enjoyed it thoroughly & can't wait to see what journey Jessica Spotswood takes us on next.
